Meeting Minutes from October 20, 2014 at 7:15 PM
Roll Call: Janet Butterfield, Lois Dundore, Deb Bennett, Lauren Harris
Prior Meeting Minutes: Approved
Report of Officers
- Janet has the CASL refund check and will give it to Jim.
- The stopwatches were returned to Janet.
- We agreed to table a potential rate for High School swimmers until after the next summer season.
- Janet reported that Hampden Township may not be providing us with the funding they have in prior years. Janet will follow back up with Jeremy to see if it can be cut this year instead of just going to zero. As such, she did think that Hampden Township would be agreeable to a swimmer-only pool rate. The township also suggested that we look into filing as a charitable group (503C). This would enable us to get corporate sponsors. Janet will follow up with Hampden Township to see if they would be OK if businesses from outside the township had sponsorship signs at the pool.
- We agreed to hold off on getting new lane lines until the funding issues were resolved.
- Janet asked Amy (parent volunteer) to look into maturing our duck logo.
- The group approved the proposed ad for the township newsletter.
- The group was asked to review the website and note any changes that should be made.
- CASL did clarify the graduating senior debate. The summer immediately following your high school graduation is the last year you are able to swim.
- Officials training will be held in early May. This is sponsored by CASL.
- Mike does have our meet schedule for next summer. Some work will need to be done because we do have a meet scheduled for July 4. We also have a meet scheduled at Indian Creek that Mike is looking to move to an evening meet.
- The next meeting will be November 17 at 7:15 PM in Wegmans.
Unfinished Business
- The by-laws need to be updated. We agreed to do this over the next few months so they can be reviewed at a parent meeting next summer.
- Janet will need to give Jim the refund check we are due from CASL.
- Mike will talk with Jeremy (Hampden Pool Manager) about them paying our guards next summer. HAC would continue to do the scheduling.
- We need to finalize next steps for our two laptops. This does not need to be addressed until after the 2015 season.
- Consider a special rate to entice high school swimmers to our club. We agreed to table this until after the 2015 summer season.
- Amy (parent volunteer) is going to look into maturing our duck logo.
- The group was asked to review the website for any applicable changes.
New Business
- Nothing additional was discussed.
