Meeting Minutes for Hampden Aquatic Club (HAC) Parent Meeting on July 22, 2014 at 7:15 PM

Discussion Points

From the Board:

  • Janet Butterfield (President HAC) led the meeting. She introduced other Board members – Jim Davis (Treasurer) and Lois Dundore (Secretary). We do have an open Vice President and four ‘at large’ positions available.
  • All previous members will remain on the board and we are looking to fill these outstanding positions. Four parents did agree to help. They are: Lauren Harris, Deb Bennett, Kristi Witt and Kristia Ludwick. The group was approved by the parents in attendance. During the off season, the Board plans for the upcoming season. Drew and/or Mike take care of coaching.
  • Our net profit from Divisionals was about $1600. This is just an estimate. We haven’t received final tallies from the food and equipment vendors.
  • Parents were told to expect to get a survey from the Board. We’ll use information gathered from this to make the team better next year.
  • The number of swim club options in the area is our main challenge to growth. Hopefully with word of mouth, we will increase our membership.
  • Parents were asked to consider learning the timing/scoring systems. This is something that can be learned in the off season. Interested parents should contact Joe Spila.
  • We also are always in need of officials (stroke and turn judge, starter, meet referee). Interested parents should contact Janet Butterfield. Certifications for these positions do need to be recertified every other year. Again, this training can be done in the off season.
