{"id":543,"date":"2014-05-12T13:09:35","date_gmt":"2014-05-12T01:39:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wsyswim.org\/hac\/?p=543"},"modified":"2015-03-18T13:19:57","modified_gmt":"2015-03-18T01:49:57","slug":"may-2014","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wsyswim.org\/hac\/may-2014\/","title":{"rendered":"May 2014"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1><strong>Meeting Minutes from May 9, 2014 at 7:15 PM<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p><strong>Roll Call<\/strong>: Janet Butterfield, Jim Davis, Lois Dundore, Drew Soisson<br \/>\n<strong>Prior Meeting Minutes:<\/strong> Approved<\/p>\n<p><strong>Report of Officers<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>As discussed in the last meeting, Andre has been hired as the referee for Divisionals.  His position is the only paid position.  The rest are volunteers from the swim clubs. A parent has volunteered to design the t-shirt for Divisionals.  This is the same parent who is taking care of the team t-shirts.<\/li>\n<li>We agreed to have the parent volunteer sell coffee, donuts and water during our two regular-season meets.  There will be no other food available.  Janet will follow up with Leah\u2019s mom about handling the food for Divisionals.<\/li>\n<li>Janet did send an April newsletter to past, future and interested swimmers.<\/li>\n<li>Jim requested the funding from Hampden Township.  But, it has not been received yet.<\/li>\n<li>Mike will look into the funding for the CV pool.<\/li>\n<li>Registration via credit cards is functioning via the website.  As of the meeting tonight, we have 38 swimmers.<\/li>\n<li>Some families are balking about having to pay a Hampden Pool membership along with the registration fee.  Our registration fees are comparable to other summer swim leagues.  However, we agreed to work with Hampden Township to see if a \u2018swim team only\u2019 membership could be offered for next summer.<\/li>\n<li>A team meeting\/party, including parents is scheduled for June 10 at 8:30 at the Hampden Pool.<\/li>\n<li>Next meeting will be June 19 at 7:00 PM in Wegmans.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Unfinished Business<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Janet will check with Township Police to see about help with Sporting Hill Road traffic the day of Divisionals.  Janet will work with Mike on the logistics of team entries.<\/li>\n<li>We agreed to place updating the record board on hold until June.  At that time, we will see if a parent would like to help by updating the record board. We do have the old records documented.<\/li>\n<li>The by-laws need to be updated.  They will need to be approved at a parent meeting during the summer. We agreed that this is on hold until then.<\/li>\n<li>As previously discussed, we will fix one touchpad and order one new.  Joe will work with Jim on the payment for this.  Joe and Janet will meet at the pool on 5\/10 to determine which touchpad to send back.  The goal is to have these two touchpads from the vendor by July 10.<\/li>\n<li>Janet will follow up with Leah\u2019s mom about handling the refreshments during Divisionals.<\/li>\n<li>We agreed to determine next steps for laptops and Windows XP in August.  We may look to replace these.<\/li>\n<li>Janet will talk with Jeremy to see if a \u2018code of conduct\u2019 is available for the Hampden Pool guards.  If so, we will use the same for our guards. <\/li>\n<li>Jim will ensure that we get our funding from Hampden Township.<\/li>\n<li>Janet will query Hampden Township to determine if a \u2018swim team only\u2019 membership for Hampden Pool could be offered next summer.<\/li>\n<li>Janet will work with Mike to determine if we still need to pay for email addresses.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>New Business<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Janet will send a welcome email to the 2014 swimmers.<\/li>\n<li>Jim will take care of sending our roster to CASL.  This must be postmarked by June 6.  He will also send to Jeremy to confirm pool memberships.<\/li>\n<li>Due to the way Mike set up our new website, we may not have to pay for our email addresses.
