We will have fun pool events for all swimmers in all competitive practice groups (AGA, AGB, AGC, Pre-senior and Senior). We will take some team pictures, the coaches have some great “get to know” games for the kids and FUN RELAYS!!!!  After we conclude in the pool, we will give away of our “WSY Speedo Team Gear” (t-shirts, bags and water bottles).  For those of you that have never been to the pool at Messiah University – you are looking for the Sollenberger Sports Complex .  If you are using GPS, use 450 University Avenue, Mechanicsburg, PA.  There is NO PRACTICE at the YMCA on Sunday (10/8) due to Team Day.

The Y District meet will be held at at Graham Aquatic Center, York, PA.  There are three (3) YMCA District meets across the state of Pennsylvania.  This meet is open to all YMCA swimmers who have competed in a minimum of three (3) YMCA meets during the current season.  There are qualifying times which are listed here.   

All swimmers 11-12, 13-14, & 15-21 may swim no more than 3 individual events per session with a max of 6 total individual events, relays not included.   All swimmers 10 & Under may swim no more than 4 individual events per session with a max of 8 total individual events, relays not included. Coaches will choose all relays.  

Swimmers’ age is as of December 1, 2023

Prelim/Finals | Program of events | Daily Schedule

Advancement from the District Meet to the PA YMCA State Swimming Championships is:

• Top 6 swimmers in each individual event from each of the 3 districts + next 6 from combined data for a total of 24 swimmers in each individual event (with several exceptions)
• 13 and over (13-14 + 15 and over separate age groups) 1000, 1650 will have Top 2 from each District + 2 from at large which is 8 total swimmers racing at the state meet in these events in a timed final format
• 11-12 500 Free will have Top 2 from each District + 2 from at large which is 8 total swimmers racing at the state meet in these events in a timed final format
• Relays– Top 4 from each District + next 4 from “at large” for a total of 16 relays. All Relays at the State meet will be swum at finals session each evening in a timed finals format (relays only swim once) – We will have 2 heats of each relay at the State Meet

The state meet will have one heat (Top 8) at finals of each event qualifying from the preliminary sessions except relays where we will have all relays racing at finals The 10 and under session to use a 2-day event format. 

The 10 and Under age group will be TIMED FINALS (only swim once) in a separate session
