Meeting Minutes for Hampden Aquatic Club (HAC) Parent Meeting on June 10, 2014 at 8:45 PM

Discussion Points

From the Board:

• Janet Butterfield (President HAC) led the meeting. She introduced other Board members – Jim Davis (Treasurer) and Lois Dundore (Secretary). Right now the Vice President position is open. Anyone who is interested should contact Janet.
• Fundraising – Sub sale orders are due tonight. The subs will be delivered on June 18, which is the same day as the pictures. Janet does have order forms for the pictures. Individual, siblings and team photos will be available. These are optional. We also have water bottles, blankets and Senators vouchers for sale to help raise money for the club. The Senators vouchers are $11 each and are good for any home game. During home meets, we will also be selling Texas Roadhouse peanuts. The peanuts also include a coupon for a free appetizer. These fundraisers help with the gifts for each swimmer at the end of the season.
• HAC has a Facebook page (Hampden Aquatic Club). Be sure to ‘like’ it to get up to date information.
• Parent Volunteering – we need volunteers for both home and away meets. For away meets, we need help with officials, judges, timers and 8 and under ‘wranglers’ Our home meets, we need help with these same areas as well as setting and tear down of the pool. Normally, we must vacate the pool area by 1 PM. For Divisionals, we have until 2 PM.
• The HAC Board meets the third Monday of each month at 7 PM in Wegman’s dining room. Parents are welcome to attend
• T-shirts will be distributed tonight to any swimmers who registered by May 28. For those later registrants, t-shirts are on order and should be available by Team Pictures. These t-shirts are free of charge. But, anyone can order extras for a fee to help as a fundraising activity

From the Coaches:

• Drew noted that attendance was great at the first meet. There were a few DQ’s but the coaches have been working on them this week. Leah noted that she will not be able to attend most meets this summer. But, she will be available for the practices.
• Swimmers attend practice when they can.
• Practices times are as follows (this information is also available on the HAC website):
• Hampden Pool – Morning Session
  Swimmers are asked to be at the pool at 8 to be in the water at 8:15
  • Under 8 is 8:15 – 9:30 (Coach Brady)
  • 9-10, 11-12 (summer swimmers only) is 8:15 – 10 (Coach Leah and Drew)
  • 11-12 (year-round swimmers), 13 and over is 8:15 – 10:15 (Coach St John)
• West Shore Y – Evening Session
  • Under 8 is 6:00 – 7:00 (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)
  • 9-10, 11-12 (summer swimmers only) is 6:00 – 7:30 (Monday through Thursday)
  • 11-12 (year-round swimmers), 13 and over is 4:30 – 6:15 (Monday through Thursday)
• Swimmers are reminded to show their Y membership card or their program card when entering the Y. For those swimmers who have not picked up their program cards, they can do so at the Y front desk. This program membership is only good for the evening swim practices. It does not include any other usage of the facility.
