Meeting Minutes from June 15, 2015 at 7:15 PM

Report of Officers

• A majority of Board members was not available for a meeting in May. So, there was no meeting in May. The minutes from the April meeting were approved.
• A parent that is an attorney is helping with the 503C filing. She is reviewing the bylaws now and making suggestions. The plan is for this to be complete within the week. The expected cost of the filing is approximately $1100 in federal, state and advertising fees. These are one-time costs. There will be no ongoing fees if our annual income remains less than $25,000. Janet will see if we can use the Hampden Township address for our official filing with the IRS. The Board did approve a budget for this item to not exceed $1250. Jim will also talk with the attorney about the benefits of a fresh EIN.
• We would like to have a ‘final’ version of the bylaws available for the next parent meeting in July.
• To date, we’ve sold 29 swimsuits. A lesson learned is that this information needs to be posted sooner.
• Our first home swim meet is June 20. Janet requested that the guards be there at 7 AM. Lois will ensure this happens.
• We agreed to have parents complete and end-of-season survey again this year. During the meeting, comments were provided to Janet. She will redistribute prior to our next meeting.
• We have 123 children on our roster. We also agreed that there will be no end-of-season gift since gifts will be provided at the Rubber Duck Challenge.
• Janet will talk with Tom Ducharme’s mother about a senior gift.
• The next meeting will be July 13 at 7:15 PM in Wegmans.

Unfinished Business

• The bylaws need to be finalized at the July parent meeting.
