Coaching Achievements:
-Lead St. Augustine Prep to two consecutive New Jersey High School State Championships, one #1 New Jersey state ranking, and a #4 national ranking
-Named Coach of the year in 2005 by the South Jersey Interscholastic Swimming Association
-Coached numerous swimmers to USA top 16 national rankings
-Coached swimmers from novice level to Senior National Qualifiers
Prior to moving to West Shore YMCA, Ryan was the Director of Competitive Swimming at the Shenandoah Marlins Aquatic Club, as part of the Waynesnboro YMCA in Virginia, where he was named the 2007-2008 Virginia Age Group Coach of the Year. When Ryan started in 2006 at SMAC, the team had a total of 30 swimmers, and when he finished, the team had grown to over 90 swimmers. Ryan has coached 15 swimmers to achieve Y National qualifying times, and has had swimmers at the Eastern Zone Championships. One of Coach Ryan's swimmers was ranked 2nd in the country last year in her age group.

Goal for
coaching:
Get kids to believe they are capable of
accomplishing more than they ever thought was
possible and convince them to want to do what is
necessary in order to do that.
Personal:
Swam at St. Bonaventure University and earned
All Atlantic 10 Conference team selection 2000,
2001, 2002, Atlantic 10 conference champion in
2002 and team captain his senior year.
Married in August of 07, wife Andrea is a 4th
year doctoral student in clinical and school
psychology, avid Philadelphia sports fan, enjoy
reading, writing, working out.
