College Night 2008

We had our Annual WSY College Night on Friday evening, November 28 and I think this was our largest showing in about 8 years. We had 17 student/athletes representing Division I and Division II schools, plus two college grads that are now in the professional world. We then had 19 high school and 8th graders who were asking some great questions of our panel. Each year our WSY Alumni that come back for this important evening grows, and I can't thank them enough for taking the time our of their schedule to "give back". Many of the Alumni were actually sitting "on the other side of the table" at some point in their swimming career, and I know in talking to everyone, College Night is something they look forward too as they switch sides of the table.

In talking with the high school and middle school WSY swimmers......it is very important for them to hear what goes on at college from their peers. This is "real life stuff", ranging from how to handle "challenging room ates" to "how did you prepare for your college selection, and what would you do different".

Thanks again for everyone for attending, and with 14 graduating WSY Seniors in the Class of 2009, we should once again have a large turnout next year.
